About our Craftsperson
Welcome! I’m Bianka, the founder and creator behind Second Life Gems, where passion, craftsmanship, and nature meet to form one-of-a-kind pieces of jewellery.
My journey into jewellery making began in 2017, inspired by my Opa and a shared love for craftsmanship. What started as quality time together evolved into a creative passion, leading me to join the Ballarat Woodworkers Guild. There, I learned to craft my first pen, a skill that quickly expanded into creating intricate candlesticks, goblets, and finely detailed work using the scroll saw.
As my abilities grew, I became fascinated with the natural beauty of wood, which sparked my vision to design jewellery that highlighted its unique characteristics. My focus shifted to creating custom rings, combining the artistry of wood with stone and metal inlays for a timeless, bespoke feel.
In 2024, I deepened my knowledge of jewellery engineering through courses at Melbourne Polytechnic, enhancing my skills to create high-quality, durable pieces. By 2025, my work was featured at the Adam Lindsay Gordon Cottage in Ballarat, and with growing demand, I’ve expanded to an online platform to share my creations with a wider audience.
Each piece is handcrafted with care and dedication, making sure that no two are alike. Whether you're looking for a custom wedding band or a unique gift, I’m here to bring your vision to life with artistry and precision.
